Mitutoyo 050084-10 Depth Base Attachment For 4 to 8" (100 to 200mm) Vernier and Dial Calipers

Quality is in the name. I didn't expect any less. Works really well with many off brand digital calipers. The set screw knob perfectly holds the calipers without any wiggle. These just made my cheap calipers highly functional for depth measurements.I strongly recommend these.

This has made measuring depth dimensions with (+- .005) tolerances so much easier and way more accurate. I've checked it on a 1-2-3 block and it's within (+- .0005). Very stable as you can see I'm measuring the thread depth in this picture and I've always been paranoid when checking depth dimensions with the depth check on my calipers it doesn't feel right half the time but with this depth base i can instantly feel that it has sat flat against whatever I put it on which gives me assurance that whatever I'm checking is going to be what it says it is. It has a tapered screw lock that presses it to the back of the caliper slot and to the side securely the caliper slot is precision ground as well as the base. If your thinking about buying this I highly recommend it, the returns for the amount of money is absolutely worth it! Well done mitutoyo as always.

Works fine, I thought it would fit my 6" Mitutoyo caliper better. That being said, it does seem to work fine and stays firmly in place.

Works great! Nice and heavy, which helps stabilize the caliper. I used it with the Mitutoyo calipers I already had to check the deck height on a VW engine

This attachment provides a wide and solid contact area which is much better than other similar products which are made of smaller and thinner material.The attachment to the caliper is through a taper washed compressed against the caliper base. It looks like it has a too big clearance to the caliper but the fit is good and precise.

I liked how well it was built. It is a very well made attachment. It is very large though and this may or may not be a negative. It turns the caliper landing into near the same size as a depth mic so while it may be big it also registers firmly and seems very accurate. I was getting good readings much more repeatable with this than none at all. The weight and size keeps my caliper from tipping or walking off a few thousands from square which was the point all along.

The heaviness of this base gives it enough sturdiness that it will stand on it's own in the vertical position using a six inch caliper while recording measurements, something those other much lighter ones will not do.

Bought this for my 10” mitutoyo calipers. It’s a perfect fit on my 10” digital calipers and produces very repeatable measurements. Attaching and removing is very simple and fast. However it is too big to fit well in the case calipers case without flopping around
