Horrible instructions and an product that worked ok for one year and then broke.
The instructions are horrific, painfully incomplete. That said, their customer service was very good and their software as integrated remote assistance.The badge scanner does what it is supposed to.Edit: one year later...The product has broke because the buttons stop working. I had purchased the insurance with this but they took a week to get back to me and then need me to mail it to them for an undisclosed amount of time.

Needs a lot of improvements; Tech Support a Bust
The software for this device was difficult to configure and appears written for Windows 95. The device will NOT get an IP address from any LAN connection, even when configured manually.Can't configure the device to display time other than a 24 hour clock. But the software shows the 12 hour clock.Firmware updates are NOT available for end users, only authorized resellers. The company hasn't provided any response other than to deny our download request. That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.The summary of the hours for us might show, for example, 39.20. That's 39 hours and 20 minutes, NOT 39.2 hours. We have to manually convert the minutes to hours, which again makes no sense to us.Device is very slow when connected to a serial cable.Update 4/8/14Device suddenly won't communicate at all. Software on one computer suddenly without warning started displaying error messages that it was compiled with a different version of Fox Pro (something integrated with the program) and displays a help button. Clicking the help button doesn't do anything.Provided a new firmware version by tech support (finally got someone). Apparently when you submit a help request via the website it gets routed through Malaysia first. The 'update' was the same version installed and was very difficult to load onto the machine. We were told that firmware is not provided to end users as end users might screw something up.Let's be clear that the ONLY reason we want this product is to document employee time. We don't need anything fancy to export to payroll. We don't need to do any high tech reports. We just need to be able to connect to it and see the employee hour totals for the week. And even that's hard to do.
