AWESOME MALLET
well made, hefty, smooth finish, and hard as a rock.pricy; but good tools usually are. happy with my purchase.

Excellent quality.
This is a nicely made hardwood mallet. 9.5" in length x 3" in diameter. Mine weighed 13 ounces (368 grams). Made in the United States of America - that says it all. I brushed on a coat of Minwax semi-transparent oil stain ( natural 209). Now it is perfect.

Solid!!
The media could not be loaded. Feels good in the hand. Solid maple. Note that I put a tung oil finish in it, which it appears to be a little dark in the pic.

Great mallet.
Well balanced. Grips and doesn't bounce off if not struck squarely. Weight is good.

Better than a hammer
I was using a hammer to do some wood-carving. It worked okay I thought at the time. Then I was told that real wood-carvers use a mallet. (So do sculptors on their stone.) So feeling like a Michelangelo I got this one. It is better than a hammer because you do not have to hit the chisel square on the end with the flat part of the hammer head. You never miss. Why didn't I think of that? I think the hardwood maple is a good choice but some people have told me oak or teak that are heavier is better. Maybe so, but I am not good enough that it makes a difference.

Solid and heavy.
for coarse chisel work, this beats all.

Fun tool to use making clear ice cubes.
The media could not be loaded. It has just the right weight to easily cut a block of clear ice after the ice has been scored with my bread knife.

Don't know how I've made it this long without this tool!
Very high quality. Works really well for marking and for using as a knife to prevent tear-out. Would highly recommend this tool to anyone that needs a fine line marker & a score for preventing tear-out. The fine micro-adjuster works great especially if you have a dial or digital calipers to set your distance of cut. Highly recommended. Would buy the same tool and brand if I ever needed a new one. Easy to sharpen with a whetstone or some fine wet or dry sandpaper. Very satisfied
